Residential Real Estate - Understanding the Local Market.

Dollar volume over the last quarter is up slightly at 1% due to higher selling prices. Prices in single detached housing units were down compared to this spring, but are up by 27% over September 2007.  What these statistics indicate is that the residential housing market is moving back towards more historically normal levels. Over the past year, Saskatoon has seen  dramatic price increases because prices were previously quite low compared to the rest of the country. Furthermore, in the past year there has been very limited supply or inventory in the most desirable areas and price segments. This has now changed. Inventory levels have been rising, and it is becoming more and more a buyers' market. There is great value out there. Watch for opportunity - it is a good time to call us and talk.
